Love Potions for my dogs
This is the one that started it all, Sophie-“Ahhhh … that Feels Better”.
Sophie had a history of ear challenges when I adopted her. Shaking her head and scratching til she cried, she was in constant irritation which ear cleansers and visits to vet did nothing to relieve. Some are just prone to moisture and yeast infections, and Sophie having floppy ears was one whose ears always looked red, swollen and caked with gunk. A couple times a week, I place several drops onto a cotton ball and rub in her ear, a seperate one for each ear. Repeat if necessary. Then I place one drop on the curly parts of her inner ear … NOT in the eardrum … then flip ear down and massage it in. This is one happy dog now!

GingerElla Skin Balm (2oz jar)
This creation came about with Ginger ... she's like the Princess and the Pea ... easily in a state of distress and recognizable when her skin is irritated or she chews on herself. Unable to tolerate commercial flea repellant products and being highly sensitive to bugs, it seems as if she gets the heebie jeebies and chews incessantly on her legs and flank. I had used homeopathic remedies and oils ... then a combination of homeopathic and oils in itchy dog shampoos, potions and lotions ... nothing seemed to relieve or sooth the itching. Ginger is also an elder rescue (approximately 12 in photo at shelter dated April 2015), and her past is unknown.
I came across a Facebook post last year (2015), and immediately set things in motion to bring her home. Being just before the Memorial Day Weekend, it took twice as long to get there ... so when finally leaving the shelter 15 hours after I decided to adopt her, we gratefully settled into a hotel for the night.
She was very protective and quick to bite if she felt spooked or I picked her up incorrectly. Even without teeth, she could still elicit enough pressure to have tingly fingers from pinched nerves. Gaining her trust, being mindful how to pick her up, handle her in a way that was comfortable, and non threatening. I was on a quest to find something that would soothe her skin, as well as, comfort her enough to stop the chewing. This combination of butters and calming oils work for her. She now relishes having the skin balm massaged into her skin and even allows her tail to be touched.
I make the base of Shea Butter, Grape Seed & Olive oils, Lavender, and Bamboo. This one is so yummy, as well as gentle on sensitive skin, that I use it on my face and body.
Rub between hands to melt and apply wherever needed.
Frankincense, Lavender, Geranium, Helichrysum, in Shea base
Also soothes bug bites on human skin as hubby shared once he rubbed it on mosquito bites.

Muscle, joint, back, hip, knees, discomfort, support healthier inflammatory response, support decreased messaging of discomfort to brain, support healthy nerve function blend.
Bentley is a Papillon and he's my Gran'Dog. Having been in the family since he was a puppy, it was unusual that he recently acted like he pulled muscles or tweaked something. He flinched when I touched along his back. He looked bunched up as if "holding his muscles clenched". Begging to be lifted up, no longer able to jump onto bed or couch. Groaning and whimpering when handled or carried. I applied a sample oil blend, only to find out that one of the ingredients is not so good for dogs. Actually being toxic. I researched which oils to avoid, which oils would prove beneficial to muscle and other soft tissue tenderness. After I applied this blend for the first time, he was back to launching off my lap to bark at sounds heard from an outside source ... and "herding" the poodles when he was back to his usual assertive self. He has only needed application a few times. When I notice his eyes bulging and his rigid body posture, I ask him if he'd like more oil.
I apply 1 drop every 4-6 inches along his spine, from base of tail to base of skull. Rub oil into skin. Repeat every 6 hours as needed.
Humans - I also enjoyed rubbing this soothing and cooling blend on my back and shoulder during collarbone discomfort. It makes an amazing headache stick ... rubbing at base of head at hairline and also down neck to back and shoulder blades. Quick to relieve the tension.
Can also apply along spine, just above tailbone and up lower back. This is where the nerve "uptake" is, regardless where in the body the pain is ... it WILL get to where it is needed if applied here.
Frankincense, Peppermint, Helichrysum, Marjoram
